Battery instruction manual

PLEASE READ BEFORE USE YOUR BATTERY

  • IMPORTANT SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS AND WARNINGS
  • User must read this safety instructions and warnings before using or charging the battery.
  • This is a Lithium Polymer battery. It is very safe to charge, use & store if using properly. However, failure to follow the instructions may result in fire, personal injury and damage to property.
  • Lithium Polymer batteries are volatile.
  • Fyrework RC along with its distributors and retailers assume no liability when failing to comply with these warnings and safety guidelines.
  • By purchasing this battery, the buyer is assumed to accept all risks associated with this product.  If you do not agree with these conditions, please return the battery immediately before use.
  •

General Guidelines and Warnings

  • Never leave your batteries charging unattended.  When charging LiPo batteries, you should always monitor the charging process and react to potential problems that may occur.
  • You MUST use Lithium Polymer (LiPo) specific charger only.  It is solely the user responsibility to assure that the charger used works properly.  Failure to do so may cause in fire, which could result in personal injury & property damage.
  • Our batteries are not fully charged when you receive them.  They contain approximately 60% of a full charge.  If at anytime you find the battery starting to puff or swell up, terminate the charging process immediately.  Disconnect the battery and place it in a safe area.  Continuing to charge a battery that has begun to swell may possibly result in fire.
  • Do not cross wire the battery which may short out or even cause a fire.  If you accidentally short the wires, the battery must be placed in a safe area for observation.
  • If your vehicle is involved in a heavy crash, disconnect the battery from the vehicle and put the battery aside for observation for at least 15 minutes.  Do not use it again if it starts to swell.
  • For safety reason, try to avoid store or charge a battery pack inside your car.

First Use

  • When first open should take a visual inspection on the battery pack, check for any damage, puffiness or visualize broken connection points.  If any of these is found, do not charge and return the pack.
  • Before installing the charging connector, check the voltage of the pack using a digital voltmeter, not your charger.
  • All new packs ship at approximately 3.65V to 3.9V per cell. These numbers are correct for a 1s (one cell) pack. A 2S
  • pack should read approximately 7.60V to 7.85V.
  • If any damage is found or the voltage is significantly less for your pack than specified, do not charge or use the pack, contact us for return or exchange within 7 days of purchase.

Charging Process

  • Never charge batteries unattended.
  • Charge in an isolated area, away from flammable materials.
  • Make sure selecting the voltage or cell count for charging purposes, it is shown on the battery label.  Fail to select correctly may result in overcharging and catch in fire in the worst.
  • Let the battery cool down to ambient temperature before re-charging.
  • You must check the pack voltage after each use before recharging.  Do not charge the pack if the unloaded individual cell voltage is less than 3.0V per cell. For example:  Do not charge a 3-cells pack if below 9V.
  • The charge rate should not exceed 3C unless it is other specific.  A higher C rate charging may cause problem such as swelling, or as serious as catch in fire.
  • Your charger must be LiPo specific.

Storage & Transportation

  • Do not expose battery packs to direct sunlight or heat at anytime.
  • Do not store the batteries in the vehicle trunk.
  • Store batteries at room temperature between 40 and 70 degrees F for best results.
  • Batteries must be stored at 3.75V/cell to 3.9V/cell and approximately 50% charged for the best result
  • Storing at high temperature environment may cause fire, do not store at the area over 150 degree F.

How To Take Care

  • Only charge LiPo battery with good quality LiPo specified charger which is in good condition or else can be very dangerous.
  • Always cool down the battery after use before recharging.
  • Do not puncture the pack or else it may cause fire, do not use if it is punctured.
  • Never attempt to disassemble the battery pack.
  • Avoid the pack from contacting water, do not use if it does.
  • Do not discharge the pack to below 3V or else the battery performance will be deteriorated.  Make sure the cut off voltage is set at 3V.
  • Do not solder to the battery, only use connector.

Battery Life+ Disposal

  • Batteries that lose 20% of their capacity should no longer in use and they should be properly disposed.
  • When dispose the battery, ensure the anode and cathode are properly wrapped and insulated.

Product Warranty

Product warranty is limited to original defects in material and workmanship for 30 days from the day of purchase.  Warranty does not cover collateral damage, misuse, abuse, incorrect charging and other inappropriate use of this product.  Our warrantee is an exchange program where damaged packs are returned at a 50% off the retail price plus standard shipping.

Labels on the battery pack must not be removed or else warranty will become invalid.

Please return the pack with the sales receipt to Fyrework distributors, including all your contact information, address and e-mail.  We will examine the battery to determine if it was a manufacturing defect, if it is, a full refund will be issued.
